Haddonfield Japan Exchange Students Continue a Growing Tradition

Snapshots from abroad send greetings to Haddonfield.

A group of 14 Haddonfield students are scheduled to return from Japan Wednesday after an 11-day trip.

The visit was part of an ongoing tradition of the Haddonfield Japan Exchange, an effort started several years ago by Bill Brown, a retiree and longtime borough resident.

“The opportunity to learn first-hand about a culture that is much different, but also similar in some ways, is an experience that promises to mature and broaden the outlook on the world for our students,” says returning program director Bill Brown. "With the continued support of families, schools and community members, Haddonfield Japan Exchange hopes to carry on this cultural exchange tradition for years to come."

Brown, who did not travel with the group this year, will be on hand to pick up the students at Kennedy Airport in New York when they arrive. Until then, he forwarded these snapshots of the trip.
