Haddonfield Super Reflects On Coronavirus Pandemic
The school year is coming to a close, and the district is preparing for a full return to in-person learning.

HADDONFIELD, NJ — As the Haddonfield Public School District wraps up the academic year and begins to prepare for the return to full in-person instruction, Superintendent of Schools Chuck Klaus took a moment to “reflect on the moment” in his recent address to the community.
“As I write this, I’m looking out my office windows onto the schoolyard of Central/ Middle School, watching our students and staff excitedly engaged in activities,” Klaus said. “The predominant feeling is that of joy. Recently, I have experienced much of the same as I visit the schools across the district. Children and teachers interacting, overcoming, and persevering through what has been a very difficult year. I cannot express how inspiring it is to see our students and our teachers continuing to grow both in the classroom and beyond.”
He said the classrooms are once again “alive with instruction and interaction” and the district is returning to its extracurricular activities.

“In the next couple of weeks, we will experience proms, promotion ceremonies, and graduations that will bring true closure to what has been a 15-month struggle,” Klaus said. “I am so happy to see our students and staff rising to the challenge of bringing back these important events.”
Schools will become a lot more active in the 2021-22 academic year, after Gov. Phil Murphy announced that all school districts across the state will return to full in-person instruction with no remote option in September. He said that he has learned much, but that the coronavirus pandemic has also been a very trying time.
“It will continue to be so as we work through closing details of the current school year, as we plan for the fall, and as we return in September,” Klaus said.
