Preventing Cyberbullying: Workshop to Offer Tips

A free, hands-on workshop will explore ways for students, parents and teachers to prevent cyberbullying, sexting, social media abuse and other cyber issues.

The workshop is sponsored by the Haddonfield Middle School PTA in conjunction with the Haddonfield Municipal Alliance. It will be held 7 p.m. Tuesday at the middle school auditorium. Students will have two opportunities during the school day to attend the event.

Organizers say this award-winning program provides greater awareness of negative, irresponsible and malicious digital behaviors and trends. It also presents methods to reduce the risk of becoming a victim of a cyber crime, cyberbullying and digital exploitation.

Program highlights include:

• Essential cyber-danger prevention strategies everyone should know

• Understanding the concept of “digital legacy”

• How to prevent any digital issue − and the consequences that ensue − from negatively affecting you, your friends or your family

• How to avoid being exploited by criminals through digital technology and social media

• How to teach digital safety, responsibility, citizenship and awareness to anyone of any age
