Mosquito Spraying in Haddon Township Friday
Camden County is fighting back against a boom in mosquito breeding.

Camden County plans to target 17 Haddon Township roads for mosquito spraying early Friday morning.
The county's Mosquito Commission sprays in areas with documented mosquito breeding. This year, breeding is particularly prolific because of the heavy rainfall during June and into July.
“Our county mosquito commission works with the Public Health Environmental Laboratories in Trenton to verify the presence of West Nile virus in their samples,” Freeholder Jeffrey Nash said. “If a pool tests positive for West Nile virus, the Mosquito Commission returns to spray the area. The sprayings take place when the mosquitoes are most active.”
The mosquito spray is not harmful to humans or pets, according to county officials, but people with respiratory concerns and those sensitive to irritants should avoid direct contact.
