New Map Shows COVID Vaccine Rates For Haddonfield, Haddon

COVID-19 vaccination rates in both Haddonfield and Haddon Township hover around 50 percent, according to a new map launched by the state health department on Monday.

Both municipalities still have work to do in order to get 70 percent of all adults fully vaccinated, in line with state goals.

For the first time Monday, the New Jersey Department of Health released town-level data on COVID-19 vaccinations. The state's COVID-19 dashboard now reveals the percentage of all people, adults and seniors who have been partially or fully vaccinated in each city and town. In Haddonfield, 57 percent of adults have been vaccinated against the coronavirus, according to the map. The percentage is higher when broken down by age group, with 75 percent of residents ages 18-and-up being vaccinated, and 80 percent of residents ages 65-and-up being vaccinated.

It's a similar story in Haddon Township, where 49 percent of all residents are vaccinated; 62 percent of residents ages 18-and-up are vaccinated; and 76 percent of residents ages 65-and-older are vaccinated.

New Jersey set a goal to fully vaccinate 70 percent of adults — 4.7 million people — by the end of June. About 3.6 million people in New Jersey have been fully vaccinated as of Monday afternoon.

All people 16 and older are eligible for vaccination in New Jersey. Sixteen- and 17-year-olds remain eligible for only the Pfizer vaccine. On Monday night, the White House announced that the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) expanded Pfizer's emergency use authorization to that age group. It awaits approval from the CDC.

Earlier in the day Monday, Gov. Phil Murphy said the state would be ready once the vaccine was approved for use by students ages 12 to 15.
