Obituary: Suzanne Garrett Geiges Schaffer
The long-time Haddonfield resident died on Feb. 28, 2015.

Suzanne Garrett Geiges Schaffer passed away on February 28, 2015, at the age of 91.
A long-time resident of Haddonfield, most recently of Moorestown, Suzanne is survived by her sister, Barbara G. North( the late Robert W.) of Atlanta, GA, daughter Stacy Lynd Schaffer of Moorestown, grandson Devin Garrett Nielsen of Moorestown, four nieces and one nephew. She is predeceased by her husband of 50 years, Robert Lynd Schaffer (1998), daughter Diane Garrett Schaffer (2009), and son Stuart Pyne Schaffer (1955).
After graduating from Frankford High School in Philadelphia, Suzanne went on to study at Temple University, while volunteering as a Gray Lady for the American Red Cross. She then went on to work in accounting before raising a family. She was a tireless community servant, devoting many hours volunteering for the March of Dimes, The American Red Cross, the Girl Scouts, Bancroft School, and the Haddon Fortnightly. An accomplished seamstress, she also enjoyed painting in watercolor and tending to her rose garden.

Her gentility and quiet humor; her ever-ready smile and concern for others are her enduring legacy. She will be greatly missed. Interment will be private. Please direct any donations in Suzanne’s name to The Tender, senior day care for older adults, or The Moorestown Visiting Nurse Association/ Hospice.
