Road Work To Slow Traffic On Thanksgiving Eve In Haddon Township

Traffic in Haddon Township and Camden will be impacted over the next week by road projects, officials announced.

HADDON TOWNSHIP, NJ — Several projects will have an impact on roads in Haddon Township and Camden City over the course of the next week, the Public Service Electric and Gas Company (PSE&G) announced.

“Motorists in these areas should be aware of how closures, detours, and related delays may impact their route,” Freeholder Susan Shin Angulo, liaison to the Camden County Department of Public Works, said. “Detours can create additional traffic throughout the surrounding area as motorists shift away from the work zone, making it extra important that motorists remain vigilant for any sudden stops, shifting traffic patterns, or personnel or equipment that might end up in the roadway.”

Pavement at 14 Nicholson Road in Haddon Township will be restored between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 27. Nicholson Road south will be closed between Pennsylvania Avenue and the Black Horse Pike during this time. Drivers should use posted detours for Crescent Boulevard and the Black Horse Pike.

PSE&G crews will investigate a gas leak on Federal Street in Camden between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 3. Federal Street west will be closed between Flanders Avenue and Cooper Street during this time. A posted detour will direct westbound traffic toward Linden Street.

Both projects are expected to be completed during scheduled work hours. Scheduling and project timing is dependent on weather and may be adjusted due to unforeseen events.
