Speed Restrictions on the Walt Whitman Bridge Continue

No speed restrictions for three other Delaware River Port Authority bridges.

The multi-month bridge deck renovation project on the Walt Whitman is in its final stages. The bridge speed limit remains at 35 mph during scheduled work hours but increases to 45 mph at times of the day when no construction is underway. Fines for speeding are doubled in the construction zones Construction will be interrupted and lanes adjusted as needed to accommodate scheduled events at the South Philadelphia stadiums.

·  A minimum of two lanes will be open to traffic in each direction.

Monday (12/30)  and  Friday (1/3)

•  5 a.m. to 10 a.m. – Four lanes will be open to Pennsylvania and three lanes will be open to New Jersey.

•  10 a.m. to 3 p.m. – Four lanes will be open to Pennsylvania and a minimum of two lanes will be open to New Jersey.

No lane restrictions are scheduled on the Ben Franklin, Betsy Ross or Commodore Barry bridges.
