Thoroughly Modern Millie Arrives at Haddonfield Plays and Players

The hit Broadway musical debuts on July 12.

The tap dance spectacular known as Thoroughly Modern Millie will premiere on July 12 at .

The place is New York City. The year is 1922. The streets are filled with the breezy sounds of Manhattan jazz, flowing harmonies and effervescent dancing.

Millie Dillmount, played by Lauren Parsons, has just moved to the city in search of a new life for herself. While staying at the Hotel Priscilla she befriends Miss Dorothy Brown, a socialite played by Annie Claude Chartrand, and together they embark on a farcical journey of love, discovery and intrigue.

Filled with frisky flappers, dashing leading men (William Connell and Fernando Gonzalez) and a dragon-lady of a villainess (Emily Weitzel) audiences will love to hate, Thoroughly Modern Millie is a perfectly constructed evening of madcap merriment.  

Under the artistic direction of Matt Reher and technical direction of Ed Doyle, the production is filled with buoyant energy accentuated by the superb choreography of Broadway accomplished Renee Chambers-Liciaga. The voices leap from the stage and really capture the sounds of the Roaring '20s, through the musical direction of Tom Abruzzo.

The 2002 winner of six Tony awards, including Best Musical, Thoroughly Modern Millie will leave audiences with a smile wider than Broadway!
