Village Tree House opened last week at 119 Monroe St. It's a play space for kids 6 and under. And they'll hold a special "Sensory Saturday" on May 22.

The two moms who founded the venue, Marissa and Marisa, write, "Village Tree House is a child recreation facility/play space located in southwest Hoboken, and is dedicated to social, emotional and motor skill development through play. Our passion has always been focused on early childhood education and development as we have a collective 2+ decades working within the Hoboken childcare field. We look forward to experiencing the growth and learning of young children through a different lens, while continuing to offer support to parents."

3. "Hoboken Scoot" Each Wednesday

4. Hoboken Citywide Art Walk

On May 22, the city will host its Art Walk & Craft Market all over town, with more than 30 locations to view art and buy items from local artists and craftsmen and women. The map will be published starting Monday. Click here for more information, and here for the poster.

5. Liberty State Park Walks: Nature And History

Just because you're in a city, doesn't mean there aren't multiple opportunities to learn about nature — even at nearby beachfronts!

Liberty State Park is a short walk, drive, or light rail trip from Hoboken. The park offers a playground, views of the Hudson River and local ecosystem, nature walks, Caven Point Beach, and historic lectures. You can learn about everything from the Blue Comet Train to immigration to local birds.

They've scheduled a horseshoe crab walk this Sunday at 10 a.m., with all ages welcome. A shorebird walk takes place the following Saturday (that one's recommended for ages 5 and up).

Find out about May nature programs at the park here, history programs here, and subscribe to get e-mail updates at the bottom of this page. Directions to the park and its parking lots are here.
