City to Discuss Western Park Acquisition in Public Meeting
The meeting is planned for Monday April 8.
The city is planning to update the public on the acquisition of a new park in the southwestern part of town.
The meeting is scheduled for 7 p.m. on Monday April 8, at the Connors School at Second and Monroe Streets.
Mayor Dawn Zimmer will attend the meeting to answer questions and provide updates on the status of acquiring land for parks envisioned in the City’s Open Space Plan, the city announced.Â

The city will discuss a Southwest Park at Jackson and Newark Streets — an acre lot that the city is purchasing with the help of eminent domain proceedings — andas well as what is happening with the 6-acre BASF site at Eleventh and Madison Streets. Â
The meeting previously scheduled for April 2 on the Southwest Park will be combined with the meeting on April 8.Â
