Hudson County To Release Covid Vaccine Appointments: Hoboken
The city of Hoboken said people could sign up Tuesday via the Hudson County website for coronavirus vaccines. See links below.
HOBOKEN, NJ – The city of Hoboken announced on Tuesday, "The Hoboken Health Department was notified that Hudson County will be releasing additional vaccine appointments today for seniors and those with chronic medical conditions in the 1A and 1B phases, at the county's site in Kearny. Check for appointment availability and registration: http://www.hudsoncovidvax.org/."

Other places to get vaccinated in Hudson County can be found on this list, to which three Jersey City Rite-Aid locations were added Friday (watch Patch for updates). As of Tuesday morning, CVS said their appointments were all booked, but you can still check for updates.

As of Presidents Day, more than 486,000 Americans had died of the virus. (You can see which states had the highest death toll in the past week on this CDC map.)

- Messenger RNA (mRNA) vaccines, including the Moderna vaccine, are a new type of vaccine that doesn't include the weakened virus, but teaches human cells to make a protein that triggers the immune response (read more about that here).
- Gov. Phil Murphy reportedly said last week that he'd like to start vaccinating the general public by Memorial Day.
