HUDSON COUNTY, NJ – New Jersey has been expanding the number of publicly listed COVID-19 vaccination sites, and the state continues to announce new locations in Hudson County and elsewhere.
Some are accepting appointments directly, but some are not. But the state has suggested reaching out to those sites and seeing if getting an appointment is possible (see the Hudson County list of vaccine sites below).

State Health Commissioner Judith Persichilli said the state plans to increase the number of vaccination sites beyond 300. State officials have said the goal is to vaccinate 70 percent of the adult population by the spring.
Gov. Phil Murphy announced that New Jersey has created a county-by-county vaccine hub that reports the number of immunizations across the state.

Health officials said not all sites are publicly listed because some are not open to the public, such as prisons and psychiatric hospitals.
Persichilli said New Jersey currently doesn't have a lot of vaccine availability, but she expects that to change soon. The incoming Biden presidential administration has said that it plans to greatly expand the number of vaccine doses available to the American public.
New Jersey recently expanded the list of eligible people, allowing police and fire professionals and people older than 65 to get the vaccine. Read more: NJ Expands COVID Vaccine To 65 & Older, Those With Medical Issues
Persichilli said the state has administered at least 36 percent of vaccine doses allocated. Hospitals have administered vaccines at least 50 percent of their health care workers.
Her hope is to continue to expand the number of "mega-sites" in convention centers and large spaces, aiming for 1,000 people vaccinated a day.

What's new this week
As of Friday, more than 458,000 Americans had died of the virus. (You can see which states had the highest death toll in the past week on this CDC map.)
The state has noted: "Vaccination phases are tentative and subject to change. The movement between vaccination eligibility phases may be fluid. One phase may overlap with another. Not all individuals in each phase will be vaccinated before opening to additional groups, and not all groups within a specific phase will be made eligible to receive the vaccine at the same time."
Aside from these sites, there will be more medical practices, hospitals, and pharmacies getting the vaccine, so you may want to check your local pharmacy or supermarket. CVS said some of their stories may get the vaccine next week (27 CVS Pharmacies In NJ To Give Out Vaccine).
On Friday, the city of Summit announced that it would open a site on Monday that any New Jersey resident in the 1A and 1B eligibility groups can use. (More details are here: New Coronavirus Vaccination Center To Open In Summit.)
Here are the currently listed public vaccine sites in Union County. Many will only vaccinate people 18 and up for now.
