Crumbcake With Buddy And The Lt. Governor
As the crowd outside was eating cake, the lieutenant governor took a tour of Carlo's Bakery.
As the crowd outside that had gathered for the 100th anniversary of Carlo's Bakery was eating from a 14 feet vanilla-chocolate fudge cake, Lieutenant Governor Kim Guadagno sunk her teeth in a freshly baked, just out of the oven, piece of crumb cake.Â
"Fantastic!" Guadagno said, as Buddy "Cake Boss" Valastro showed her his bakery upstairs. As he cut up the crumb cake he also made Guadagno try one of his specialties: a lobster tail. This, too, came fresh out of the oven on the second floor of the Washington Street bakery.Â
Laughing, and enjoying the private tour, Guadagno praised Valastro for the influence he's had on New Jersey.

"You're shining a light on New Jersey," she said, comparing it to as big a deal for the Garden State as hosting the superbowl in 2014. "It's the superbowl of cooking," Guadagno said.
Guadagno, who spent the rest of the afternoon with Hoboken Mayor Dawn Zimmer and several staff members (going to the senior luncheon in the Multi Service Center as well as the historic baseball game re-enactment).Â

Gov. Chris Christie couldn't make the Cake Boss celebrations on Saturday.Â
