The fatal fire in a Marine View apartment late last month was electrical, according to a fire report by the Hoboken Fire Department.

According to the report, the Hoboken Fire Department responded to the fire at 1:43 p.m. on Saturday March 23. The alarm had gone off five minutes prior, at 1:38 p.m.

When fire fighters entered the building, they reported "heavy smoke on floor #11."
Callan lived in apartment 11D.

Fire fighters forced themselves into the apartment, where they found Callan on the floor. The Hoboken Volunteer Ambulance Corps was notified immediately to take Callan away, according to the report.Â
Callan succumbed to her injuries later that night at St. Barnabus.
It took about three hours to knock down the fire and deem the building safe, according to the report. The Hoboken Fire Department left around 4:32 p.m. that day.
