Hoboken Obituary: Eugene Failla Jr., Retired Deputy Fire Chief

Eugene R. Failla Jr., 72, a retired deputy chief with the city of Hoboken Fire Department, passed away.

HOBOKEN, NJ — Eugene R. Failla Jr., a retired deputy chief with the city of Hoboken Fire Department, passed away last month. He was 72-years-old.

The following obituary comes courtesy of Brewer & Sons Funeral Homes:

“Eugene R. Failla Jr., 72, of Weeki Wachee, passed on April 15 at Oak Hill Hospital. He was born in NJ and came to this area 19 years ago. He was a retired deputy chief from the city of Hoboken Fire Department. He proudly served in the US Navy and the Coast Guard. Eugene also taught music and loved playing the piano.

“He is preceded in death by his parents, Eugene Sr. and Ronnie Frisco and brother, Louis Failla.

“He is survived by his loving wife of 22 years, Maureen; brother, David; and niece Sadie.”
