Hoboken Offers Walk-In COVID Vaccines Tuesday

The city is offering the Johnson & Johnson vaccine Tuesday without appointment. The city also offers Pfizer and Moderna at other sites.

HOBOKEN, NJ — The city of Hoboken said Monday that among its coronavirus vaccine clinics being offered this week, they will start allowing walk-ins at a clinic held Tuesday.

"Please note that Tuesday’s clinic at 605 Jackson St. with Medicine Man Pharmacy is now also a walk-in clinic," said Mayor Ravi Bhalla in an update on Monday, "with registration encouraged, but not required."

That location offers the Johnson & Johnson one-shot vaccine, which was temporarily paused two weeks ago after 13 people reported blood clots out of 7.8 million shots. Use of the shot resumed last week — with a warning —and Hoboken resumed its use in various programs.

Hoboken also offers other vaccine clinics and programs using the Pfizer and Moderna two-shot vaccines. See the city's updated list of Hoboken vaccine sites and testing sites here.

Studies have shown that the vaccine is at least 95 percent effective against the virus, and among those who still get it, it's said to greatly reduce the chance of hospitalization and death.
