Hoboken Offers Free Composting Program (Here Are The Details)

Mayor Ravi Bhalla marked the expansion of Hoboken’s composting program with Community Compost Company, students, and local business owners on Saturday, November 10 at 12 p.m. at the Hoboken Public Works Garage, 256 Observer Highway (corner of Observer Highway and Willow Avenue).

In partnership with Community Compost Company, the City of Hoboken now offers FREE weekly curbside pickup of food scraps for local businesses and schools. To get started, businesses and schools should take the short business compost pickup survey at www.hobokennj.gov/compost.

The City of Hoboken also now offers a FREE compost drop off site for Hoboken residents. Residents are invited to drop off food scraps and other compostable materials at the Public Works Garage, 256 Observer Highway, on Saturdays from 9 am – 12 noon and Mondays from 8 am – 12 noon.

Community Compost Company offers weekly or biweekly curbside pickup of food scraps for residents for a nominal fee of $19/month for biweekly pick-up service or $29/month for weekly pick-up service. Click here to register for residential compost pickup service.
