Hoboken Plans to Remove Assemblyman From Housing Authority
Carmelo Garcia said he has been left 'in the dark' and has not been informed of the board's vote Monday night to terminate his contract.

The Hoboken Housing Authority board of trustees is expected to vote to remove its executive director at a special meeting Monday night at city hall.
Carmelo Garcia, who is an assemblyman for the 33rd District, said he has been left “in the dark” and hasn’t received a Rice notice to inform him of the board’s vote to remove him as the housing authority’s executive director, according to NJ.com. The board’s agenda calls for a vote to “terminate the contract” of Garcia.
The Hoboken Housing Authority Resident Advisory Board plans to march from the Jackson Street housing complex to city hall for the meeting Monday at 7:30 p.m. to support Garcia, according to NJ.com.

Garcia has been in a feud with Mayor Dawn Zimmer, even filing a lawsuit against the mayor and her husband for alleged ethics violations.
