Hoboken Remembers Anthony Salvatore, Beloved Pizzeria Owner
Hoboken community members are coming together to honor the memory of a beloved local business owner and support his family.
HOBOKEN, NJ – Hoboken community members are coming together to honor the memory of a beloved local business owner and support his family.
Anthony Salvatore, owner of Filippo's on First Pizzeria, died on Jan. 16 at age 46. A GoFundMe page has been set up by family and friends to help support his wife, Christina, and three sons, Domenico, Angelo and Antonio.
According to the GoFundMe page, Salvatore was diagnosed with T-Cell Lymphoma and battled the disease, as well as the many complications that came with it, while raising his family in East Hanover.

Salvatore is remember on the fundraising page as an "old soul" who loved his Italian heritage and was happiest when he was surrounded by his immediate family.
The page has a fundraising goal of $50,000 and currently has raised more than $45,000.

"We would like to support Christina, Domenico, Angelo and Antonio in the most fitting manner possible to honor his legacy," the organizers wrote on the page. "This will look out for their future and the education aspirations of his children."
