Hoboken said it plans to enforce alternate side parking regulations starting on Wednesday, after a major winter storm dumped 7.5 inches of snow on the city.

Winter Storm Juno, which was originally forecast to dump more than two feet of snow on the area, forced the city and state to shut down all non-emergency traffic Monday night and closed schools across the city.

Hoboken announced Tuesday afternoon that parking on snow emergency streets would be permitted after continuing a ban all morning. Normal garbage pickup will resume Tuesday. Discounted parking will remain until Wednesday to keep cars off the street to facilitate snow removal.
