Hoboken to Throw 4th of July Festival

The Macy's fireworks will return to the Hudson for the second consecutive year.

When the term "zero tolerance" comes up in Hoboken, the St. Patrick's Day parade comes to mind. But on July 4th, the city is enforcing the same policy.

The city will also throw a festival along Sinatra Drive that day between First and Seventh Streets, from noon to 10 p.m.

"All available police officers, firefighters, the Office of Emergency Management, and other municipal officials will be enforcing all codes and regulations regarding public behavior with a zero tolerance level," city officials announced.

Careful, too, when you're planning on watching the fireworks show on your roof. The city announced that there'll be an "absolute restriction on parties or gatherings on rooftops... unless said property has been properly zoned and approved for rooftop access."

Alcohol along the waterfront will not be allowed. The city announced that visitors and fireworks viewers have to pass through checkpoints to access the waterfront.

If you're looking to be a vendor, you can go here. The city is also still looking for musicians and performers for the festival.

The city is still planning to open Pier C Park before July 4. Workers have been installing some of the missing railings during the past week.
