Seen something worth mentioning around town? Drop a note to clairem@patch.com.

Every true Hobokenite has probably defended the Mile Square as the birthplace of baseball at least once.

It's not for nothing that the sign at the border with Jersey City welcomes you to the "birthplace of Frank Sinatra and Baseball." Or that the inaugural game is recreated every year, on its anniversary.

The Hudson Reporter published a story about how Hoboken "wuz robbed" when it lost the baseball museum to Cooperstown.

FOURTH WARD CANDIDATE CALLS FOR "CLEAN ELECTIONS"

Fourth Ward Candidate and incumbent Michael Lenz sent out a release Monday afternoon, pledging a "clean election" on Nov. 2. Tying into the fact that former Hoboken Mayor reported went to jail today to start serving his two-year sentence, saying that "today ends a shameful chapter in Hoboken history."

The press release further states that cash bribes were the "most obvious violation of the Cammarano campaign," but that many other "illegal and unethical activities" occurred.

Lenz is now calling his opponents, Tim Occhipinti and James Sanford to run an honest campaign as well, by asking them to sign a "clean campaign pledge, which if followed, would end the 'tradition' of dirty 4th ward elections."

Will Occhipinti and Sanford sign?
