Hopatcong Man Assaulted With Beer Bottle

In one of two assaults this weekend involving beer, a Hopatcong man was allegedly assaulted on Saturday night with a beer bottle. 

When Hoboken Police officers arrived at the scene at 100 First St. on Saturday night around 11:50 p.m., ambulance personnel was already on the scene, police said. 

The 22-year-old victim had been in a downtown bar when he bumped into an unidentified man, police said.

A pushing match ensued and the Hopatcong man was hit over the head, police said, with a beer bottle, causing a laceration.

The victim was taken to the hospital where he received five staples to the head, police said.

No arrests were made.
