Besides registering for an appointment on the state's hub for any of the state's six megasites, the state has been updating its list of Hudson County sites (see this week's updated list below), including with several community pharmacies in Hoboken, Jersey City, Bayonne, and more. Individual towns also have added their own sites (see below).
In addition, this week the state unveiled a new appointment tracker for residents. READ MORE: New Jersey Launches COVID Vaccine Appointment Finder

A message sent out by the city of Hoboken on Thursday afternoon said the city will pre-register those who want to receive the vaccine in Hoboken. Eligible Hoboken residents can use this site: http://www.hobokennj.gov/vaccinesignup
In a story on Hoboken's CERT volunteers, they revealed several phone numbers for seniors and others who need help. More here. The city has also been taking names of homebound residents who need the shot.
Communities in Jersey City got two vaccine sites at churches in underserved areas last month (see a story about that here), while Palisades Medical Center is administering more shots to residents of North Hudson towns.
What if you don't drive?
The state recently opened a megacenter in Newark that will vaccinate Hudson County residents and others. It's reachable for those who don't drive. READ MORE: Hudson County Getting 20,850 Covid Vaccines This Coming Week

More information
- Messenger RNA (mRNA) vaccines, including the two-dose Moderna and Pfizer vaccines, are a new type of vaccine that doesn't include the weakened virus, but teaches human cells to make a protein that triggers the immune response (read more about that here). The Johnson & Johnson one-dose vaccine is more traditional (see stories about all three vaccines here and here.) Doctors say that the important metric is that all three are effective in preventing serious illness and death from covid, and that having the majority of the public vaccinated, no matter which vaccine, will lessen the spread.

- As of this week, 550,000 Americans had died of the virus. (See how your county is doing with this CDC link.)
