Update: Hudson County Parking Deck Collapses
Snow plow operator injured in early morning operation to clear deck at Secaucus hotel
The parking deck of a Secaucus hotel and adjacent office complex collapsed Saturday morning while a snow plow operator was working to clear the top level amid a fierce winter storm, according to the owners of the garage.
The deck which is shared between the an office complex at One Harmon Plaza and the Clarion Hotel Empire Meadowlands, at 2 Harmon Plaza, collapsed onto a lower level, injuring the plow operator and crushing a vehicle parked in the lower deck.
Michael Seeve, president of Woodland Park-based Mountain Development Corp., which acquired the One Harmon Plaza complex in 2014, said that at about 7: 30 a.m. the plow operator fell through to the below deck when the top level collapsed and complained of a headache, but was taken to a local hospital and released after going through medical tests with a concussion.

Seeve said that after the garage was secured, the remaining cars were removed from the facility. He confirmed that the cause of the collapse appears to be the weight of the snow, but added that inspections and shoring work to secure the site are continuing.
“There’s going to be a period of time where that emergency shoring work is performed,” he said. “That’s certainly going to be an inconvenience to everybody.”
