Mayor Introduces New Ethics Reform Package For All City Employees
Announced the package late last week.

Mayor Dawn Zimmer has installed a new set of ethics rules in City Hall through executive order.Â
In a press release on Friday afternoon, where she also, Zimmer laid out the new rules after meeting with all of City Hall's employees earlier that day.Â
Under the executive order, all employees are required to go through ethics and anti-sexual harassment training. The package also includes a ban on nepotism, a ban on workplace violence and a mandate installing an honor code for .Â

"It's extremely important," Zimmer said, "that we have that honor code."
Zimmer is also introducing a ban on nepotism. Preferential treatment toward family members will now officially be illegal in City Hall. Under the new law, it's not allowed to be the direct supervisor of a spouse or family member.Â

The package also includes a ban on political fundraising on public property.Â
The mayor's executive order has gone into effect, but she said she would like to have the council vote on the package too, to make a more long lasting change, she said.Â
