NJ Transit Will Not Buy Union Dry Dock Property
Mayor Dawn Zimmer announced in a memo to the city council that the agency will not purchase the property.

New Jersey Transit has informed the city that it will not be buying an uptown waterfront property, Mayor Dawn Zimmer announced in a memo to the city council.
"NJ Transit is no longer exploring the acquisition of the Union Dry Dock property nor does the agency anticipate doing so in the future," NJ Transit executive director James Weinstein told the mayor.
Zimmer wrote that she had been working with the agency since the summer to "urge NJ Transit not to pursue the project."

The Union Dry Dock property is located at 11th Street and Frank Sinatra Drive and is still being used for ship repair.
"Hoboken's waterfront is the treasure of our city and a tremendous recreational asset that improves the quality of life for Hoboken residents," Zimmer wrote.
