Nobody Injured In Two Alarm Fire on Adams Street
All units in Hoboken responded. Cause of the fire is not yet clear.
The Hoboken Fire Department responded to a two-alarm fire Wednesday just after 5 p.m., when a small fire in the back of the Russo Civic Association on 422 Adams St. broke out. No civilians were hurt, said Tom Molta, president of the Hoboken Volunteer Ambulance Corps.Â
The fire started in between 420 and 422 Adams St. officials on scene said. The reason of the fire was not yet determined.Â
"We don't use the back," said Michele Russo. Russo said she was on the ninth floor of a nearby apartment building when she saw the smoke coming from Adams Street.Â

Eugene Falconer said he came out of the liquor store across the street, when he saw smoke come from in between the two buildings.Â
There was no damage to the two apartment units on the second floor of 422 Adams St., because the fire didn't go up that far, officials on scene said.

Kristen Domenico, 27, who lives next door, saw the fire trucks upon coming home from work and reacted in shock.Â
"The first thing I thought," Domenico said, "was 'oh my God, my cat is in there!'" Although the firemen told her not to go into her apartment, she did anyway, and found her cat in fine shape.Â
"It smelled smokey," said Domenico, who has lived on Adams Street for three years, "but I didn't see any smoke."
One firefighter was treated because he had debris in his eye, said Molta.Â
