The city of Hoboken gave the following updates late Monday:
- Street sweeping is now suspended for Tuesday and Wednesday.
- Parking meters will remain in effect to help facilitate the clearing of parking lanes in commercial districts. All other parking rules and regulations remain in effect.
- "The National Weather Service was forecasting continued heavy snow into Tuesday. Snowfall rates this afternoon and evening could reach 2-3 inches per hour, with near blizzard conditions. Residents are asked to avoid travel especially on roadways, and to stay home to the greatest extent possible."
- The Hoboken Department of Environmental Services and crews from Hudson County currently have eight plows out throughout Hoboken clearing roadways. Streets were pre-treated with brine yesterday in advance of the storm. Staying off of roadways will assist crews as they continue plowing operations through Tuesday.
- The Port Authority has suspended all PATH train service as of 3 p.m. Monday. New Jersey Transit has suspended all bus and rail service. (Note: Ferry service was suspended Monday and mostly suspended Tuesday; see the update here.)
- Emergency snow routes will remain in effect overnight and throughout the storm. To view emergency snow routes, please visit http://www.hobokennj.gov/snow.

North Jersey police offered various tips:
- Keep anything that can burn at least three feet from any heat source like fireplaces, wood stoves, radiators, or space heaters. If using space heaters, plug only one directly into a wall outlet (never use extension cords or power strips).
- Do not run snow blowers in garages – it is a carbon monoxide and fire hazard. Never attempt to fix a clogged or inoperative snow blower with the engine running – responders have witnessed serious injuries and loss of fingers/hands as a result.
- Treat any downed wires as if they were live- stay clear away from them. Report them to emergency services. Keep portable generators outside, away from windows, and as far away as possible from your house. Never fuel generators when the engine is running or hot.
- Report all power outages to PSEG at 1-800-736-7734 (PSEG).
- If you have outside gas meters, make sure the regulator vents are clear of snow.
- If you have a direct wall-vent furnace or water heater, make sure snow does not block the pipe outside your home. If you have direct vent heating appliance and you notice your heat has stopped working, you should check the vent to ensure it did not get blocked.
- Follow safety and heart healthy tips when shoveling.
