
Hoboken police arrested a 19-year-old man from Reading, Pa., at 310 Jackson St. around 2 a.m. on Thursday, according to police reports, when he allegedly tried to sign into the Hoboken Housing Authority with a false name.
Bryan Hansen was charged with defiant trespassing and hindering apprehension, according to police.Â
Trespassing in the Housing Authority is a long standing problem. The second precinct, a dedicated police bureau for the HHA, is supposed to help curtail trespassers. At an HHA meeting earlier this month, Lt. Charlie Campbell said that the number of arrests has increased because of the new precinct.Â

A little before 3 a.m. on Thursday, Hoboken police arrested a 26-year-old Chatham man after he allegedly assaulted a police officer, according to reports.Â
According to police, Artem Boyev—who, police said, was intoxicated—began to talk to a woman on the corner of Second Washington. The woman went inside Tutta Pasta for safety, while a cop blocked Boyev from following her, according to the report. Boyev didn't listen to the officer—who identified himself as a policeman—and assaulted the cop, according to the report. Boyev then allegedly shoved the officer into the window of the restaurant, causing it to crack, according to the police report.Â

A 34-year-old Hoboken man was arrested and charged with simple assault Sunday around 2:45 a.m., according to police reports. Alex Castillo allegedly punched a Bayonne man in the face during a street fight in front of the bar Black Bear on First and Washington Streets, according to police. When officers came in to interrupt the fight, according to the report, Castillo kept punching the victim. The Hoboken Volunteer Ambulance Corps responded, but the victim refused treatment, according to police.
