Police: Cash Stolen from Uptown Cafe
A woman allegedly took a day's worth of cash from a safe in the store.

An uptown coffeeshop was burlgarized on Tuesday afternoon, police said, when a woman allegedly walked to the back of the store and stole the day's worth of cash from a safe.
The woman took about $220 from Cream & Sugar Cafe, which amounts to about a day's worth of cash spent at the coffeeshop.
The owner of the coffeeshop told police that the woman, 24, who had taken the money was a friend and a regular. While they were friends, the owner told police, the woman had never been allowed in the back of the store.

The money was rapped around with a daily tally sheet, according to the police report and taken out of the safe around 4 p.m. The owner of the store said that if he could get his money back he wouldn’t press charges.
The alleged thief returned to the coffeeshop and admitted she had taken the money, police said. She had gotten the combination to the safe from one of the people working at the cafe, police said.Â

No arrests were made and the owner of Cream & Sugar Cafe got his money back, police said.
