Renovations to Come to Two Hoboken Parks

A total of $850,000 has been awarded to the city to improve two city parks. 

A $600,000 in Green Acres funding will be used for improvements to Elysian Park and a $250,000 County Open Space grant has been allocated for Stevens Park.

The public has been invited to participate in community meetings to provide input in the plans.

The first meeting will be at the Hoboken Historical Museum on October 30 to solicit input from the public on improvements to Elysian Park. Residents are invited to attend any time between 7 and 9 p.m.

Residents can also submit their feedback via an online survey.

The community is also invited to a neighborhood sustainability workshop on Saturday, October 20 at City Hall starting at 12:30 p.m., according to the city.

The Rutgers Center for Urban Environmental Sustainability (CUES) and Mayor Dawn Zimmer are hosting a community workshop regarding improving the environmental sustainability of the block surrounding City Hall, according to a press release.

12:30 p.m: Welcome by Mayor Dawn Zimmer and introduction to the sustainability challenge

1:30 p.m: Work session in small groups moderated by Rutgers Graduate Students in Landscape Architecture

3:30 p.m: Closing discussion, sharing ideas
