Suspect in Montclair Bank Heist to Appear

The suspect in the attempted $10,000 robbery of a Montclair Bank of America branch is scheduled to appear in court this morning in Newark, prosecutors said.
Eric Tyler, 22 was arrested on charges of armed robbery and making terroristic threats Wednesday after leaving the branch at 441 Bloomfield Avenue with the stolen bank funds in a bag, police said.
Police said he entered the branch at 9:31 a.m. and handed a note to the teller stating he had a gun. The teller emptied the cash into a bag he provided and he walked out of the bank headed eastbound.

Police stopped all traffic eastbound on Elm Street and boarded two NJ Transit buses before locating the suspect, who was found with the cash.
The FBI assisted in the apprehension.
