
A 24-year-old Union City man was arrested Tuesday around 2 a.m. at 400 Jackson St. and charged with  defiant trespassing, possession of CDS Marijuana under 50 grams and possession of drug paraphernalia, according to a police report on the matter.Â
Two officers who were patrolling the Housing Authority saw Michael Soto walking inside the gated baseball field at 400 Jackson St., according to the report. When the officers asked him what he was doing and whom he was meeting, he could not come up with any answers, police said.Â
After finding out Soto had an outstanding $2,500 warrant in Union City, the Hoboken police officers placed him under arrest, according to the report.

Police also found a green vegetation—believed to be marijuana—wrapped in cigar paper in Soto's bag, according to the report.Â
Trespassing has long been a persistent problem in the area of the Hoboken Housing Authority, HHA Executive Director Carmelo Garcia has said. Cameras, which are monitored by Hoboken police and Garcia himself, are supposed to improve safety in the area, Garcia has said also.Â
