Wind Gusts Up To 60 MPH Possible In Hoboken Through Monday

"Gusty winds could blow around unsecured objects," the NWS says. "Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result."

HOBOKEN, NJ — Following a day of rain on Sunday, Monday will be clear but windy, the National Weather Service says. On Sunday night, the NWS issued a wind advisory until Monday at 6 p.m. for northeast New Jersey (including Hoboken), southern Connecticut, and southeast New York, warning of potential high winds.

The NWS predicts: "West winds 20 to 30 m.p.h. with gusts 45 to 55 m.p.h. A few gusts up to 60 m.p.h. may be possible. The strongest winds are expected late tonight into Monday morning."

They warned, "Gusty winds could blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result."

They advise, "Use extra caution when driving, especially if operating a high profile vehicle. Secure outdoor objects."

The forecast for Hoboken

The forecast is:

  • Monday: Sunny, with a high near 56. Breezy, with a west wind 20 to 25 m.p.h., with gusts as high as 45 m.p.h.
  • Monday night: Clear, with a low around 40. Northwest wind 5 to 10 m.p.h. becoming light west after midnight. Winds could gust as high as 21 m.p.h.
  • Tuesday: Sunny, with a high near 62. Light south wind increasing to 9 to 14 m.p.h. in the morning.

Rain is expected to return on Wednesday.
