No Surprises In Uncontested Hopatcong Council Primary

Results for the primary are unofficial until they are certified by the Sussex County Clerk's Office.

HOPATCONG, NJ — Unofficial summary results were posted shortly after midnight, Wednesday morning, in the uncontested Hopatcong council election.

In that race, incumbent Republicans Dawn Roberts and Ryan Smith ran unopposed for their seats in the primary. However, Roberts and Smith will face Mara Modes - the sole Democrat in the primary - in November's election.

Hopatcong Council (two seats up for election)

  • Dawn Roberts (R) - 956
  • Ryan Smith (R) - 963
  • Mara Modes (D) - 297
  • Write-In (R) - 47
  • Write-In (D) - 26

The results of both of these races will be official once the Sussex County Clerk’s Office certifies each of them, after all mail-in ballots are tallied.
