Incumbent Oroho Called Winner In Legislative Dist. 24 Primary
Oroho took 82.58 percent of the votes to Cruz's 17.42. Results are unofficial until Sussex, Morris and Warren County Clerks certify them.

NEW JERSEY — Just before midnight on Tuesday, the Associated Press called the contested race for Legislative District 24's Senate seat for incumbent Republican Sen. Steve Oroho.
Oroho had 81.14 percent of the votes at 11:50 p.m. to his challenger Daniel Cruz's 18.86 percent at that time.

The AP total was updated at 9:35 a.m. on Wednesday morning, with Oroho taking 82.58 percent of the vote to Cruz's 17.42.
At the time of the AP update on Tuesday, 165 of 174 or 94.83 percent of the precincts in Sussex, Warren and Sussex County had reported results. During the 9:35 a.m. update on Wednesday, 170 of 174 precinct results were reported by the AP.

There was no Democrat challenger for the Senate seat in the primary.
The breakdown is below for both of these Senate candidates, for their votes in Sussex, Morris and Warren Counties:
Oroho - 10,404 (Sussex), 1,1o5 (Morris), 1,099 (Warren)
Cruz - 2,003 (Sussex), 226 (Morris), 328 (Warren)
Write-In - 35 (Sussex), 1 (Morris), 2 (Warren)
On the other hand, in District 24's Assembly race, Republican incumbents F. Parker Space and Harold “Hal” Wirths, were unopposed. However, Scott Fadden - who is also running unopposed in the Democrat primary will run for one of the two seats in November.

Senate Seat (one seat up for election, per AP totals at 9:35 a.m. on June 9):
- Steven Oroho (R) - 14,189 or 82.58 percent
- Daniel Cruz (R) - 2,994 or 17.42 percent
Assembly Seat (two seats up for election)
- F. Parker Space (R) - 11,733 (Sussex), 1,236 (Morris), 1,366 (Warren)
- Harold "Hal" Wirths (R) - 10,926 (Sussex), 1,197 (Morris), 1,312 (Warren)
- Write-In (R) - 110 (Sussex), 4 (Morris), 2 (Warren)
- Scott Fadden (D) - 3,319 (Sussex), 733 (Morris), 728 (Warren)
- Write-In (D) - 339 (Sussex), 53 (Morris), 67 (Warren)
The results of all of these races will be official once each Clerk’s Office in Sussex, Warren and Morris Counties certifies them, after all mail-in ballots are tallied.
