3 Brothers Pose Danger to Community, Police Say
Trio accused of jumping man two days after one of them punched a woman in the face and assaulted an officer, report said.
Three brothers have been accused of jumping another man last weekend on Brooklyn Stanhope Road, Hopatcong Police said.
Andrew Laureano, 20, of Brooklyn Stanhope Road, and his brothers, Francisco Torres, 22, of Camden, and Nathan Torres, 18, of Lakeside Boulevard, were each charged on July 19 with assault.
According to Lt. Thomas Kmetz, the three brothers jumped a 21-year-old Hopatcong man following an argument. The trio kicked and punched the man, who suffered injuries over his entire body, Kmetz said. The victim was transported to the hospital, but did not suffer major injuries, Kmetz said.
The brothers were arrested and lodged at the Sussex County Jail in lieu of $10,000 bail.
"Bail was sought because of the danger they pose to the community," Kmetz said.
Francisco and Nathan Torres were arrested two days earlier for an incident outside the Rite Aid. Francisco Torres punched a woman in the face and assaulted an officer, while Nathan Torres resisted arrest during that incident, Kmetz said.
