Andover Officer Transfers to Hopatcong Police Department
Daniel Kern replaces Officer Thomas Snyder, who is rejoining the Sparta Police Department.

A new police officer was recently sworn into the Hopatcong Police Department, while Sparta welcomed back one of its former officers.
Officer Daniel Kern joined the Hopatcong Police Department last week through an intergovernmental transfer program that allowed him to come over from the Andover Police Department where he spent the past nine years.
Kern replaces Officer Thomas Snyder, who is rejoining the Sparta Police Department. Hopatcong hired Snyder in March 2012 after he was laid off in Sparta. Snyder had been working in Hopatcong with K-9 Eli, who is trained in narcotics detection.
