Annual Holiday Parade Returns to Spring Street in Newton

Kick off your holiday season in Newton!

Christmas Through the Ages will be the theme to celebrate the Town of Newton’s 150th Anniversary when the Annual Holiday Parade, sponsored by the Greater Newton Chamber of Commerce and the Town of Newton, returns to Spring Street on Saturday, November 29th from 10:00 a.m. till 11:00 a.m.

Local organizations, community leaders, families and friends will kick off the holiday season in style at the fun and festive event. The parade will feature musical groups, floats, animals and vehicles including antique cars. Awards will be given for the floats and/or group who best depict the theme.

Santa Claus will make his arrival on the Newton Fire Department’s hook-and-ladder truck, and will visit with children in front of the Newton Fire Museum on Spring Street after the parade.

Merchants on Spring Street will be open before and after the parade to kick off the holiday shopping season. Event participants are encouraged to shop and dine locally and support Newton’s businesses and restaurants when they are in town for the event, which takes place on Small Business Saturday.
