Authorities Warn Sussex Co. Of Car Thefts

According to the Prosecutor's Office, a high number of cars have been stolen lately from golf clubs and business parking lots.

SUSSEX COUNTY, NJ — Sussex county and western Morris County drivers should be on alert. There has been a wave of car thefts in these areas lately, according to the Sussex County Prosecutor's Office.

A lot of these incidents have been happening at golf clubs and business parking lots.

Officials say some of the cars stolen had unlocked doors and that burglars have in some cases stolen credit cards from the inside and used them immediately.

They are urging people to keep their doors locked at all times, keep any valuable items out of plain sight and locked in the glove compartment, and, if possible, to keep not keep them in the car in the first place.
