Children's Chorus to Offer Holiday Concert in Newton
The Children's Chorus of Sussex County will offer a holiday concert at Christ Church in Newton.

The Children’s Chorus of Sussex County will present a Holiday Concert on Saturday, December 9th at 7:00 p.m. at Christ Church in Newton. Three separate ensembles will perform Christmas, Hanukah and seasonal favorites. The Bella Voce group in grades 2 – 6 will perform several pieces including “The Holly & the Ivy” and “God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen”. The Young Men’s Ensemble, comprised of boys in middle school and high school, will perform “Do You Hear What I Hear”, “Boar’s Head Carol”, “In the Bleak Midwinter” and the Christmas classic “African Noel.” The Concert Choir, made up of advanced singers in grades 7 – 12, will offer pieces in three different languages; highlights include “Jesu, Joy of Man’s Desiring” and “Starlight, Star Bright”. The Concert Choir and the Young Men’s Ensemble will collaborate in a performance of “Gaudete”.
The Children’s Chorus of Sussex County serves school-age children in northwest New Jersey and Eastern Pennsylvania by providing a comprehensive choral music program. In addition to the three ensembles which will be performing in the Holiday Concert, the organization also provides a Musikgarten program targeted towards younger students. During this holiday season, the various choirs have performed with the Celts at the Newton Theatre and entertained patrons of the German Christmas Market in Sparta. They will also be featured performers at the Season of Hope Toy Shop at Project Self-Sufficiency in December.
