Farmers Market Extended in Hopatcong
Last one is scheduled to take place this upcoming Sunday.

So many residents have been enjoying the borough's very first farmers market, officials said, that they have decided to extend the last day to Oct. 14.
Originally scheduled to end on Sept. 30, the date was pushed back two weeks to this upcoming Sunday due to requests from residents, according to councilman Michael Francis.
This Sunday will be the last chance for the community to get all of their fresh fruits, veggies, meats, and other specialty items from over 20 vendors.Â

Since June 17, the borough has held the farmers market every Sunday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the parking lot of the Municipal Building.
Francis said that each weekend hundreds have attended, and many have made it a Sunday activity and have come after church. He said even at the latest market day on Sunday, which was a "lousy" day, the vendors did well.

"It's been outstanding," Francis said. "People not only come there to buy stuff, they come there to visit with other people. It's really become an event."
With the first season almost behind them, borough officials are already planning for next year, and have decided to add wine and cheese to the mix.
