Fire Destroys Motorcycle on Brooklyn Mountain Road
Plastic shroud caught fire beneath the bike's gas tank Sunday morning, police said.
A fire destroyed a motorcycle Sunday morning on Brooklyn Mountain Road, Hopatcong Police said.
The owner left her bike running while she went inside a house at about 9:30 a.m. Sunday, police said. The owner's boyfriend noticed a plastic shroud was catching fire beneath the gas tank, police said.
The man moved the bike away from the house and another motorcycle and two vehicles that were parked next to it, police said. Moving the burning bike to the side of the road saved the other vehicles from being destroyed, police said. The second motorcycle's seat, however, was damaged from the flames.
The Hopatcong Fire Department responded and extinguished the blaze.
