Frost Advisory Issued For Sussex County

It's time to break out your windshield ice scrapers and mittens.

SPARTA, NJ — With fall in full swing and winter slowly getting closer, the National Weather Service has issued the first frost advisory for Morris, Warren and Sussex counties.

In effect from 2 a.m. to 9 a.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 16, residents in northern New Jersey could see "fairly widespread frost," the NWS says. Temperatures will stay in the lower to mid 30s during the night, and any sensitive plants could be killed by the frost, they warn.

Monday night into Tuesday isn't the only chilly night northern NJ can expect. Wednesday night sees a low of 38, and the lows for the rest of the week hover around 48.
