Hopatcong: Here Are 2021 Primary Election Polling Locations
Here are ways to drop off mail-in ballots up to Tuesday, including local drop boxes, plus where and how to vote in person on June 8.
HOPATCONG, NJ — When voting in Hopatcong, here’s the best way to find out how to cast your ballot, depending on whether you’ve opted for a mail-in or in-person voting method.
Borough voters may drop their ballots off early or up to the designated time on Election Day by mail, in a drop box or at the Sussex County Board of Elections. If a resident would like to vote in the primary in person, they will need to go to their designated polling location.

Sussex County residents can take advantage of New Jersey’s early voting in the primary, if they have already pre-registered for a mail-in ballot.
There are one of three ways which Sussex County’s mail-in ballots can be counted, according to the State of New Jersey’s Division of Elections:
1. By regular mail via the United States Postal Service.
2. By depositing into a secure drop box within Sussex County.
3. By dropping the ballot off in-person to the Sussex County Board of Elections Office, no later than 8 p.m. on Tuesday, June 8, at 83 Spring St., Suite 305 in Newton.

By Regular Mail: For residents who requested a mail-in ballot for the primary, to be counted, ballots must be postmarked no later than Tuesday, June 8 and received by Monday, June 14. There is no postage required if mailing in the United States.
By Secure Drop Box: For those who would prefer to use a Sussex County secure drop box, rather than regular mail, they may take their mail-in ballot to any dropbox location. Click here for a current list of drop box locations in the county, with one located at the Hopatcong Borough Municipal Building.
Primary ballots won’t be accepted in drop boxes after 8 p.m. on June 8.
At the Sussex County Board of Elections: Regular business hours at the Board of Elections Office in Newton are 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Friday, though ballots can be dropped off for the primary up to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, June 8, according to the state's website.
To Vote In Person On June 8 in Hopatcong
On the upcoming primary day, Tuesday, June 8, the polls in Hopatcong open up at 6 a.m., then close at 8 p.m. According to information from the County of Sussex, Hopatcong registered voters can find their ward and district on their sample ballot that was mailed to them. Voters can only vote in person at their designated location.
The locations are as follows for the Hopatcong Borough Districts, for those who would like to vote in person on primary day, Tuesday, June 8, between 6 a.m. and 8 p.m.:
- District 1 at the Hopatcong Municipal Building on 111 River Styx Rd.
- Districts 2 and 7 at the Hopatcong #2 Firehouse at 440 Maxim Dr.
- District 3 Hopatcong #4 Firehouse at 101 Jefferson Trl.
- District 4 votes at the Ambulance Squad building on 514 River Styx Rd.
- District 12 votes in Hopatcong Middle School's gym on 19 David Rd.
- District 6 will cast their ballots at the Hopatcong Civic Center at 32 Lakeside Blvd.
- District 8 will vote at the Board of Education Administration Building on 2 Windsor Ave.
- District 9 votes at the Hopatcong Community Center on 47 Hopatchung Rd.
- District 10 votes at St. Jude's Parish Hall on 40 Maxim Dr.
- District 11 votes at Hopatcong #3 Firehouse on 43 Hopatchung Rd.
