How Much Snow Did Sparta Get?
The first major snow storm of the season left several inches of snow across the state. See how much your town got here.

SPARTA, NJ — Yesterday's snowstorm was the first major storm of this season, bringing school closings and cancelled work days. Thankfully, power outages were minimal despite the storm's strong wind gusts, and residents mostly stayed inside.
The storm, touted as a bomb cyclone, left several inches of snow across the state. Here's how much snow towns in Sussex County got according to the National Weather Service:
- Wantage: 4.8 inches at 4:02 p.m.
- Highland Lakes: 4.7 inches at 4:08 p.m.
- High Point: 4.5 inches at 7:08 p.m.
- Sparta: 4.5 inches at 7:30 p.m.
- Newton: 4.0 inches at 1:45 p.m.
- Stockholm: 4.0 inches at 8:05 p.m.
Note: Not all towns have snowfall totals, as provided by the National Weather Service. Snow totals for Hopatcong were not provided.
