The Never-Ending Winter: Snow In North Jersey On April 30
No, really: on the last day of April, several towns in North Jersey got snow.

SPARTA, NJ — It felt like spring was finally here. The sun was coming out, temperatures were rising, and we hadn't seen any snow for weeks. Until Monday morning, when several towns in North Jersey saw snow on the last day of April.
Heavy flurries were caught on camera at Sparta Mountain in Sparta, NJ around 11 a.m.
"Snowing on #Sparta Mtn in #NJ on April 30th....what kind of crazy weather are we having this year. Is the new norm?" Friends of the Sparta Mountain asked on Twitter (watch video below).

Sparta wasn't the only town to see snow on Monday. Gregory Matlosz, an elementary school principal in West Milford, shared a photo of snow falling at school around 10 a.m.
"'Winter is Coming...' it won't stop snowing @UGL, it's April 30! ...waiting for the White Walkers to pass through," he joked, referencing Game of Throne's years-long winters.

The towns that saw snow were generally higher elevation, meteorologist Carlie Buccola told the Daily Record. She said although snow has fallen this late in April before, "I wouldn't say it's normal."
After this, it looks like the long winter will finally be over for good. Temperatures are expected to peak in the 80s this week several days this week.
