SUSSEX COUNTY, NJ — With the severe weather that ripped through New Jersey on Tuesday, there are approximately 7,600 Sussex County JCP&L residents without power on Wednesday morning.

This is about 16 percent of the county's JCP&L customers, with the total statewide for JCP&L's service area at about 25,414 at 11:50 a.m., down from 31,730 at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday.

"As we have seen before, the landscape that we enjoy most, being surrounded by beautiful trees and the like, proves challenging when our area is hit by storms with very high rainfall and/or strong winds – ultimately bringing trees down over wires, poles and roads," said Sparta Township's Mayor Christine Quinn. "As we speak, our collective resources continue their efforts towards achieving 100 percent power restoration and road passage."
